About BizUptimeBot

BizUptimeBot (user agent BizUptimeBot/1.0 (+https://bizuptime.com/about-our-scanner)) is the automated checker behind BizUptime. It visits public web pages the way a normal visitor would.

When it visits

• When someone runs a free Health Check on a website: the homepage, up to 2 contact pages, and up to 15 linked pages to find broken links.
• When a BizUptime customer monitors their own website: a light homepage check about once an hour.
• When a customer lists a website as a competitor: once a day, up to 12 public pages (homepage plus service, pricing and offer pages), fetched one at a time with a pause between requests.

What it respects

• For daily competitor checks it follows robots.txt. Rules for BizUptimeBot apply first, otherwise the * rules. To opt out, add:

  User-agent: BizUptimeBot
  Disallow: /

• It never submits forms, logs in, or tries to get around paywalls or bot protection.
• It only reads public websites. It does not scrape Google, Yelp, Facebook or other platforms.
• It keeps page fingerprints and short extracts (headings, prices, offers) to detect changes, not full copies of your site.
